In the Stillness of the Moonlight
In the Stillness of the Moonlight
30x40 | Oil on Canvas | Framed - ready to hang
The things we most need to know, solve, and figure out will often be healed at the listening level — that place within us where God’s Spirit bears witness with our spirit. Here, God speaks to us of things that cannot be understood through human wisdom alone or shuffled around and filed away in the mind.
The listening begins in the resting. When our pace slows and our minds begin to settle, we can begin to hear. We are told to “be still and know” — raphah and yada in Hebrew.
Raphah means to relax, to withdraw, to let go, to be quiet.
Yada means to know, to learn to know, to perceive, to see, to find out and discern.
It is in the stillness that we find the knowing — the understanding, wisdom, and revelation that come from the Spirit of God.
“This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.”
1 Corinthians 2:13
Inspired by 1 Corinthians 2:10–14, Psalm 46:10, and Ephesians 1:17.
